“Strongly recommend by my Japanese friends”
Best tempura rice I have ever eaten in Japan after having covered 42 out of the 47 Prefectures in Japan in over 10 years. Arrived after 2pm when it was less crowded. A must-try for all Foodies. Fresh, yummy and not greasy. Will go for it again when back in Tokyo.

This tempura restaurant has been rated as one of the best in Tokyo for so many years and luckily we could return here after a long absence. Nothing has been changed, in a positive way.We had the most popular Momiji course for lunch, mixture of various seasonal seafood and veggies. Each item is resp...ectively and exquisitely fried in front of you. Stop talking and concentrate on eating, as Tempura is at its best when "just cooked". Scallops were so sweet, asparagus so flavourful, your taste bud will be knocked out. If you want to know quintessence of Tempura, you should try this restaurant.

“Only go if you're after world class tempura.....”
The restaurant ‘Tentei’ is located 2 minutes walk from the Ginza downstairs and is fairly easy to find. If you’re luck to get a reservation (they’re not open on Sunday) you are in for wonderful food. Its small, probably no more than 20 seats in total with two chefs showing their years of experienc...e. Its simply a world class tempura restaurant that’s been around for some years and I never get fed-up with their menu. We had one of the set meals which basically included just about everything……some beer and warm saki. It really doesn’t get much better. Can I recommend Tentei……….only if you want a world class tempura experience!

“Thoughtfully prepared tempura.”
We ran into this place while shopping in Ginza. I was planning on going to a higher-rated tempura place in Shinjuku later that evening, but was hungry. Based on my experience here, I'll rate the other place lower because this was just so special. There are just two guys behind the counter frying on...e little morsel at a time. Each bite is a little gift. The batter is crisp. The ingredients are fresh. And the chefs and the servers were attentive and helpful to a non-speaking gaijin. I will seek this place out every time I visit.
