love Japanese cuisine, and this restaurant is one of my favorites in the city. The portions are perfectly sized for one person, which is quite rare when dining out in Pakistan. I highly recommend trying their bento platters and bowls! They also serve a delicious banana tempura with mango ice cream t...hat's a must-try.

Exceptional. Exquisite. Extraordinary. This is the perfect fusion blend of Japanese (and French) ingredients and French (and Japanese) techniques. The chef spent time at Astrance in Paris with Pascal Barbot a while back and continues his inventive journey in Tokyo. The bavarois, the foie gras - ...comte Napoleon, the barely cooked shellfish, the slow cooked mackerel, and the seared Wagyu onglet were all amazing. I loved the pain perdu with bitter mugwort as dessert. The restaurant does not allow pictures of dishes in the dining room - so watch La Grande Maison Tokyo, only recently released on Netflix in the US. Better yet, go.

The food was very creative. Some dishes were extraordinary. However, they have two sittings and so we went for the 2nd sitting at 8pm. We took our time, apparently too much time because suddenly courses were being delivered even before the previous course had been eaten. I was asked to pay before th...e final courses were delivered. This rush at the end left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). I know of other high end restaurants who abandoned the dual sittings due to the bad experiences for diners. I suggest Quintessence does the same.

Do not go here. Massively disappointing. Food was average at best. Really poor atmosphere. It was not the kind of experience I ever want to repeat.
