“It’s all about the Tonkasu!”
Small local joint with seating for about 10 people total. The signage outside is only in Japanese so be sure to look at the restaurant website so you can see/match the characters if you don’t speak/read Japanese. There were about 4 people ahead of us so we waited for about 20 minutes. The menu is si...mple: 3 options of tonkatusu platters (regular, special, extra special) with 2 options for choice of meat (loin or filet) plus one curry dish. Each platter comes with a helping of raw cabbage and rice which you can upsize if desired. The hostess/waiter was very kind. There is an English menu. She took our order while we were still waiting and then our food arrived quickly after we were seated. The portions were generous. Locals use the vinegar on the table to season the cabbage which made it more like a salad. The food was inexpensive and the setting was very simple. But the food was delicious and the service was friendly and kind.

“Loved it!”
Loved the tonkatsu here! It was very fresh and really good. The place felt very authentic, filled with locals and very small. There was a queue to get in but it was so worth it.

“Amazing tonkatsu”
Worth the 20-minute wait and would wait longer. This is by far one of the best tonkatsu I’ve ever had(in terms of taste and price point). The breading smells heavenly with a crunch that is just right. Pork is juicy and tasty. Not a fan of the fatty parts in any meat but this one is just fat juice fo...r the soul. Tender. No problem at all driving my knife into the meat.

“MY FAVOURITE "TONKATSU" PORK CUTLET RESTAURANT”
Masamune has only one young chef deep frying the pork for all the orders >hundreds of "TONKATSU" PORK CUTLET meals every day. There are 3-4 other staff assisting him as waitress and preparing the cabbage slicing all done by hand. One of my favourite "TONKATSU" PORK CUTLET place in Akasaka. Their Por...k curry have been on TV several times as a very unique and popular meal. Masamune gives you a choice of eating with salt (recommended) and lemon or with bit sweet "TONKATSU" sauce. The shop also serves fried oysters during the winter season along with the choice of fillet or loin pork meat choice. There is also a choice of minced meat croquet it you like croquets. They all come as a meal set with tonjiri - pork miso soup, bowl of rice and pickles and a lot sliced cabbage.
