“Excellent”
Absolutely excellent. Each dish and drink is only 370 yen and the quality of food is amazing. Plus you order off a tablet which makes the whole experience really fun.

“Outrageously overpriced and only for the very adventurous and patient diner”
First time visitor to Japan and this restaurant was recommended and booked on our behalf. Until this point we'd had nothing but excellent dining experiences in Japan so we were looking forward to this (expensive) dinner. Despite being advised otherwise, the staff we encountered spoke no english. T...he menu also had no english translations but a young japanese couple seated next to us gave some assistance. We then waited about 45 mins before being served, we were literally about to get up and walk out. After ordering what we though was chicken yakitori (??) we waited at least another 30 mins before any food arrived. What we received was not chicken but a series of partially cooked skewers of various types of pork offel, including liver, various cuts of intestines, underbelly, tongue etc. Given the restaurants renown, the fact it was packed and the queue outside to get in we thought we might be missing something so we made an attempt to at least taste each batch of skewers as they arrived (the last one arriving about 3 hours after we arrived!) but to be honest it was all pretty unpleasant so most of the food went back uneaten. Unless you can speak (or read) japanese and you are a very adventurous and patient diner i'd recommend you avoid this outrageously overpriced restaurant and go someplace else.

“What a joy ...”
I travel a lot. I don’t review every restaurant/hotel/bar because I don’t always feel the need! But ... I loved Torishige. We went because it was raining and my feet hurt and it was a v short walk from our hotel and open later than some. I wasn’t expecting much. But what a joyous gem of a (prima...rily) yakitori restaurant. It was packed when we arrived but they squeezed us in at the bar by moving a few people along. No picture menu, all in Japanese but, if you’re not a faddy eater, just let them bring you the bestsellers! And order with your eyes and ‘I want what he’s eating’. There are a lot of pork innards (which I would normally not order) but the skewers are tiny and they really tasted excellent. We also ordered a whole baked shiitake mushroom and some delicious seared beef. Being a non beer drinker I was v v happy with the Chablis by the glass. Would I return ... a resounding YES! Lovely restaurant and an excellent happy atmosphere created by great boss and team. Thank you for an unexpectedly great evening.

“Best yakitori - not an over statement - but beware of crazy waiting time”
I have had many yakitori around japan and found that this is simply the best by far.. you have not eaten yakitori you have not had it. They found a way to make many internal parts just oh so tasty and tender A warning: waiting time can be really Long, even with reservation made. We had a 8pm reser...vation, we arrived at 740pm, sat down at about 840pm. Seats are very close to each other and ambience boisterous .. dinner took a Long time to complete All in if it’s the food then it’s well worth it, but only if one can spare the patience and time for it

“One of the best Robatayaki resturant in Shinjuku, 2nd place for Shinjuku in Tabelog!”
This kanji name of the restaurannt misled some of us non-Japanese speaking visitors as they actually don't serve any yakitori, instead they famous for the beef, pork and their internals. They have a la carte menu you could choose from but if you are the first timer, go for the Omakase menu, they wil...l give your a varity of pork and beef robatayaki, internals (you can ask to skip or have it cooked, they do speak very basic English). Their food tasted so good and best to have it with a drink. A great place to go with friend for an enjoyable night with great robatayaki. One of the best rating restaurant in Tabelog for Shinjuku.
