Mein Diningrumu Ru Torianon

I ordered the course menu (6 courses) to be disappointed by the first 4 dishes with the exception of the Kobe beef with foie grass and Gorgonzola cheesecake that were truly spectacular. Point is, order these from the menu and save you money from the rest. Worst lobster ever!

Probably the worst value for money meal I've had in my life. Steak was bland and tasteless. Underseasoned and served with a 'school dinner style gravy'. French dining? I dont believe any French person would consider a steak like that to be food.

Really nice & impressive restaurant! We came 4 persons for dinner, and it’s really fine dining! The waiters are very attentive and speak ok English. We each had a set menu, and it was high quality food. It was a bit funny to be at a high-end French restaurant in Japan, that’s all 🤔

I ate there after my reservation to the Japanese seating fell through. Don't know what the Japanese buffet was like but I can certainly say that the experience at Le Trianon was memorable.

I understand why our excursion included lunch at the Le Trianon. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and has views of Lake Ashi just outside its windows. The restaurant is located in the Prince Hakone Ashinkoko Hotel. It also explains why our excursion was so expensive. This is a pricey French... restaurant for very pretty and fresh food, beautifully presented but very small portions. I think it would have been more fun if we had a traditional Japanese meal instead. Service was very good but extremely slow, given that we were lunching with virtual strangers just interested in the same excursion, making conversation became very forced for such a long period of time. I would have preferred more time at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, our last stop for the day.
