Shiawase-no Pankeki Ikebukuro

OUTRAGEOUS. Do not go if you're a foreigner—only go if you have time to waste. I will NEVER go again. We arrived at 1:30 PM. No one greeted us. No explanation of the ordering process for foreigners (you have to use a kiosk). The place was packed. I would have preferred if someone told us not to ent...er because it was too full or if there was a timer to inform us of the expected wait time. Instead, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes standing. Well, we're in Tokyo; waiting is part of the experience, so we accepted it, thinking we were about to have an exceptional moment... Well, NO. Order numbers are NEVER called in English after the Japanese announcement. At 2:45 PM, we finally got a table. NONE of the recipes from the website that interested us were available to order. The choices were limited to about 5 options that didn't match what we had hoped for. As for me, who isn't allowed to eat sweet pancakes, I couldn't have a savory pancake because we were seated 15 minutes too late (even though we took our ticket around 1:30 PM). And after 2:30 PM, it's over. If at least there had been a sign to inform us in English for foreigners, but no. NOTHING. So I watched others eat. When we were about to leave, we understood that there was a system with your smartphone to continue shopping and be contacted when it's your turn. I left at 3:15 PM, hungry and absolutely furious. NEVER AGAIN.

We went to the Higashiikebukuro location, it was little bit hard to find. Went there weekday around 9am, waited in the que for 20-30 min. Pancake was so different from American pancake, very fluffy, not sweet - ordered with omelette — delicious and good service.

-food is perfect. 10/10 You gotta try this! Please go early and take your no at the entrance door, don't just line up without taking your no.. Need wait for roughly 1 hour.. Can go on weekdays less people, less waiting! Had the chocolate(sweet) pancake and salmon(salty taste) pancake!

This place usually has a long line, but you can stay in a virtual line that you can access on your phone or you can book in advance. The place itself feels more relaxed than many other Tokyo cafes, with quiet music playing, and a light and modern look. The pancakes were really good, you wont go ...hungry for the next hours.

Souffle pancakes at its best. Wide variety of pancakes to choose from that will satisfy your palate & will definitely come back for more. Prices are reasonable. Ambience is good but the location is a little hard to navigate & will endure a long queue. Best time to come is before opening time.
