SALONE TOKYO

This is the flagship restaurant of the Salone group, a group carrying numerous top ranking Italian restaurants each of which has a different concept. I tried the October dinner course (most of the dishes in the course meal changes in around two months if I remember correctly), and the food was fan...tastic. The course surprisingly started off with a refined Agnolotti dal plin, as though if it was a traditional rather than a contemporary Italian restaurant, but things get different thereon. The soft texture squid and the coconut mousse was a totally new combination (despite the fact that the Salone group always claims that every combination of the main ingredients is somethng they came across in Italy and is never any fusion food), The rich and meaty taste of Angler fish together with the pheasant soup was to kill for. Followed by so many intersting dishes such as Boiled Octopus 2018, Braised squid with Chocolate??, which all made sense, after a few seconds of wondering moments, ended up with a purly white tiramissu, which did have the scent of coffee, from a purly white powder. Their wines which are actually on the high end are natural ones including some orange wines which is commonly seen now in japan, and although the characters of wine is quite strong, it is always perfectly mached by the Chief Sommelier, and their marriage is always quite assuring. This restaurant and other restaurant group is actually the only Italian restaurants I visit whenever I am in Japan. Not sure about other restaurants in the group, but this one seems to still have seats available probably since they are new in town. Strongly recommended to visit.
