“Enjoy freshly boiled udon casually!”

Reviewed 17/Jul/2025

**Marugame Seimen Dogenzaka Branch** First, check the menu board near the entrance. My recommendations: cold “Bukkake” or warm “Kamatama”! Order from the staff, then line up and wait. Watch the udon being boiled in the glassed-in area—it’s entertaining! When it’s your turn, order your udon. ... I’ll get a “cold Bukkake udon, regular size.” Specify: - “Bukkake” (menu name) - “Cold” (hot or cold) - “Regular” (size: small, regular, large, extra-large) Grab a tray and a small plate for tempura later. Move forward to the tempura section, where inari sushi is also available. Pick your favorites. Proceed to the cashier to pay. Next, visit the free toppings counter with tempura crumbs, green onions, ginger, and wakame. Add them as you like. At your table, find condiments: dashi soy sauce, dashi sauce, salt, and shichimi chili. Note: Regular soy sauce isn’t available, so vegans may struggle (dashi contains bonito). “Itadakimasu!” The udon is smooth, chewy, and delicious, enhanced by dashi soy sauce, green onions, and ginger. After eating, return your dishes to the drop-off point. Say “Gochisousama” (thank you for the meal) to the staff—they’ll love it! Give it a try! **Suggestions for improvement:** 1. Not all menus have English translations. 2. English translations are hard to read. 3. No regular soy sauce for vegan-friendly options.

“Great Udon Place”

The star, in my opinion is the udon in a thick crab egg drop gravy. It’s extremely filling and the gravy complements the smooth udon so well! The tempuras served is crispy, delicious and not soaked in oil. Would really love to make a trip back for this.

“Nice Tempura”

Yes, the big freshly cooked tempura portions are an absolute treat.. I combined with veg udon and poached egg. Extra wakame? Don’t mind if I do. As always I try to eat as the locals do.. not frequenting posh tourist restaurants with fawning waiters angling for tips. This bustling eaterie is busy s...erving wonderful noodle soups to local people in a hurry. A wonderful experience.

“Super awesome UDON”

Reviewed 22/Dec/2017

the udon is hand made in the restaurant, they have many other items as well to taste. its like a buffet system, with the udon on order. the raw egg and fish roe make this udon taste incredible. this was indeed the best udon we had, from all the places we went to. it was right after a disappointing... meal at mos burger. didnt bother going back there again.
