masazo

We visited Masazo twice in May 2019. On the first visit we chose from the a la carte menu. We had a rice skins amuse Bouche, followed by a confit of chicken liver, fried whole young garlic and bamboo, followed a chicken and vegetable soup, then venison dusted with allspice. The finale was a ligh...t as a feather white chocolate cake. The cooking is billed as creative. We found it ethereal and exceptional. Every dish was really delicious We were mightily impressed. We asked for a dry mature savoury sake to go with our meal and the Sake chosen for us fitted the bill perfectly. The two wait staff are professional, friendly and delightful. The staff work beautifully together to make the dining experience very convivial and happy. On our second visit we chose the 6 course chef's selection menu which includes drinks. This menu included several delicious fish dishes, salad, a clam gratin dish and an ostrich dish. The meal concluded with that delicious white chocolate cake. The dish were accompanied by matching sake. The chef here is a genius in terms of techniques and flavour. We really enjoyed every dish. The welcome is heartfelt and the experience is out of this world. The staff are lovely. A must do in the Asakusa area and only 100 metres from the Hotel Gracery Asakusa and 300 metres from the big temple. DO NOT MISS. OUTSTANDING.
