“Nice, but more spices and curry leaves, please!”
In Japan, South Indian food is hard to find. After many trips to India and Singapore, I often have a craving for south indian food because it's amazing! Unfortunately, Japan mostly offers tasteless yellow curries with sticky rice or microwaved naan, calling it "Indian Curry." My search for dosas and... such led me to Kerala Bhavan. Overall, this is the best offering of such food I've found in Japan, although more spices (especially more curry leaves and green chilies, if there were any in the first place) would greatly improve both the taste and the authenticity. I'd recommend this place to at least ask guests if they like spicy food before making it mild, instead of assuming they don't like spicy food. I'd think that most of the people making any effort to go to an Indian restaurant enjoy spicy food, that's pretty much what's special about Indian food!

“Good south Indian food in Nerima”
There are a number of typical south Indian dishes, e.g., sambar and dosa. There are some good special menus although these can be slightly expensive. Indian rice can be ordered instead of the stickier Japanese rice. The Madras coffee is tasty and worth watching the way it is served. The restaurant ...can get very busy especially in the weekends and public holidays, resulting in long waiting times both for seating and for the food. Each table has a map of India, which is interesting to look at while waiting for the food! The owner is a friendly man from Kerala (at the south-western tip of India).
