I only ate here because we got too hungry and not familiar with good restaurants in Akihabara, given that we don't spend a lot of time in this particular area in Tokyo. There were twenty or so restaurants to choose from on this floor (Yodobashi building), and of course we picked probably the worst.... Or, we made a poor choice. It was a shabu2 place, but saw several good-looking dishes in their artificial food display including: juicy pork belly with sexy bright orange eggs (the yolk), and meatballs udon soup which would be perfect for my sore throat. And so we walked in. We had the private dining space, which means shoes off! There is a space below the table, or seats rather, which is great for me as I tend to get pins and needles when sitting on the floor the Japanese way. Back to food. We searched the menu like Sherlock but couldn't find those two dishes, and so had to put shoes back on, walked outside and showed the dishes to the waiter. Anyway, it was all good except that the waiter was rough in his handling the cutleries, etc.- so not Japanese style. He could be Chinese, as it reminds us of how we are served at most restaurants in Hong Kong 😉 There was five of us and we each ordered a different dish (none was the shabu2), all was not good. I blamed my Dad for taking us there out of convenience. We wanted to try the French Toast Factory which was located on the same floor, for dessert, but got put off by the quality of food here that all we wanted to do is evacuate the building.
