You may have a very different experience if you're Japanese. This is my experience as a foreigner in Japan. We had high hopes for the Origami as a place to eat for the duration of our two-week stay. We came here to eat lunch. They refused us service. They tried to make us wait and wouldn't seat us... or give us a menu all the while Japanese patrons were seated and served. They claimed that the lunch service was finished whereas there were 20 minutes left for the last order cut-off. While this argument was going on they cleared the tables. "We can only give you a hamburger and you will have to sit at the Cafe area and you will have to wait for 20 minutes as all tables are full" they told us. There were dozens of tables empty in the Cafe area. We reminded them that we were guests at the hotel and they had a room service menu that had many food options and we could just as well go to our room and order room service and they would need to serve us. Having failed at refusing service an old waiter brought the room service menu giving us attitude and disrespecting me by serving my food not in front of me but a foot away to my left. He had to be corrected and his attitude was given a course correction. The food that came, you guessed it was undercooked and overly greasy. Talking about spaghetti with vegetable sauce here folks. Fake apologies and bowing on the way out. I did go to the duty manager afterward and complained. Give this place a miss. You will be mistreated, and disrespected by rude arrogant staff who will try to refuse service and you will overpay for subpar food. As a Japanese person, one may not like foreigners and one may treat foreigners badly on the street on one's free time, but when you're working in the hospitality industry and at the Capitol Hotel and a foreigner pays for service you absolutely cannot show racist behavior, refuse service, disrespect the guest and even if you don't respect the foreigner you have to respect the foreigner's money...

The service from start to finish was exceptional, probably the best we have ever experienced, if this is the standard for Japan, we can't wait for the next 5 weeks of our holiday !!! The food was perfectly cooked, presentation magnificent, and tasted as good as it looked on the plate. My wife had t...he whole sole and I had the 1/2 chicken. Perhaps not on the cheaper side of meals in the area, but I'm sure it's the best based on our experience. Will certainly be back next time in Tokyo.

We lived in Japan for many years and always love to come back. There are truly endless and wonderful restaurants in Tokyo. No doubt. But we still want to focus on the Origami restaurant at the Capitol Hotel Tokyu. It was a wonderful restaurant with great dishes and fine wine already 40 years ago. An...d nothing has changed. Please order a dish from the "classic menu" and you will be very satisfied. The service under the long-term care of Mr. Naoki Ikeda is always excellent and you will spend a very nice evening in the Origami.

I stayed at the Capitol Hotel several times and the food at Origami is great. They have amazing Japanese breakfast and a very large buffet of American breakfast. The quality is superb, the place is very nice and the service is amazing.
