“Excellent”
We loved this place. We have been twice, and both times it did not disappoint. Overall we went to a few high end restaurants including Florilege, Narisawa, RyuGin, and Takazawa. We loved Takazawa. The creativity and flavors of Takazawa are incredible, although Narisawa comes close second. The space ...is so intimate and unique that we would choose this over the white-tablecloth setting at Narisawa. Akiko, the chef's wife is so sweet too. The wine pairing is incredible as well. Overall, amazing experience.

“Cuisine Art”
Put simply, it is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Takazawa is an artist, his passion shines through in every intimate detail. His wife was the Maitre D and she was also impeccable in her service. Yes, it was extremely expensive (especially with the amazing wine... pairing) but it was worth the experience. There were only 2 tables of 6 in the restaurant, how intimate it was. And we we rushed through so that they could seat more people, it was a long slow dining extravaganza, a feast for every sense. I would give it 6 stars if i could! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

“Incredible food and service but you will pay for it: I have been here twice because it is so good”
I came here almost 5 years ago but they treated us like we were there just yesterday. The service is impeccable, the food is sublime and anyone writing reviews criticising the food must be crazy. Sorry but it is sublime. It is expensive: very but it is a restaurant that seats 10 people only and serv...es each person individually with the chef coming to the table to cook and dress various courses. The wines are expensive too..it is Japan, wine is expensive. Get over it or don't and choose some lovely local food that is not ever going to be as amazing, or such an experience but if fine dining and attention to detail don't matter to you then you don't need a place like this and you probably don't want to pay for it. I am not trying to criticise anyone, I have just read some reviews that are very unfair. This is a place to go for a treat, a memorable occasion, like our honeymoon. I think the food is brilliant, every dish is presented in a unique manner down to the hand designed plates, cutlery and glassware. The emphasis is on the experience and the flavours. Akiko is a wonderful hostess, fun and knowledgeable and Takazawa is a lovely, quiet man.

“Absolutely Overpriced and Not Worth your Time or Money”
We had the full course plus wine but were bitterly disappointed. The food was average the wine cheap and plain. Only the ice cream at the end was of any culinary value. Avoid at any cost.

“Words alone can’t express ”
I have been in love with this restaurant for years ! It’s been impossible to return in the last few years as ever time I get back to Tokyo they are fully booked! Well to my delight Akiko-san (wife of Takazawa and manager of the restaurant) managed to accommodate me. And wow! It is even better than ...I remember. The creativity married with the use of the finest ingredients- what an amazing treat. The service is exemplary- on point and not obtrusive at all. I just love, love this place! If you can’t get into the “mother” restaurant - try the more relaxed concept he has next door - Takazawa Bar. Again fabulous albeit much simpler food but really well worth trying! I went there on another evening to try it and I must saw bravo!
