“The Perfect Specy Tan Tan Ramen Noodles.”

Reviewed 28/Apr/2016

I recently stayed in Japan for 3 months due to work. Since residing in Tokyo was very expensive, I decided to rely on a friend that lives in an area called Musashi-Shinjyo (name of station - Nambu Line). As Japan goes, it doesn't matter where you are, the area usually offers very tasty restaurants. ...I particularly love Ramen noodles and am also a fan of spicy foods. A few years back, my brother took me to another noodle restaurant to try this Ramen called "Kurogoma Tan Tan-men". All I can say it was one of the tastiest noodles I have ever had up to date. From there, my interest in Tan Tan-men went wild and every time I found some noodle shop offering it, I tried it. Well, the Tan Tan-men from Ganso New Tan Tan-men, is perfection. It got to the point that I would go 4 times a week because I just craved that taste. Their Tan Tan-men, consists of ground Red chili pepper, garlic, ground beef, one egg and the noodles. They offer 5 levels of spiciness and I must say first, for Havanero lovers, you can start with the spiciest. They have mastered a taste that the spiciness does not kill the taste of the soup, that you can really enjoy and it is not an adventure eating just simply crazy food to taste your limits. Not that kind of place. The staff is very professional and very friendly. I must say they really enjoyed the presence of foreigners. Besides their staple Tan Tan-men, they also serve Miso and Shoyu Ramen, but nobody goes there for that. They have a wide variety of toppings and you can also increment the amount of noodles by 50% more or 100% more for the hungry. If you are hungry, I suggest you order the Tan Tan set that includes Rice, 3x Spicy Miso Gyoza's, a salad with a mildly hot salad dressing besides the Tan Tan noodles. You can go from Tokyo via Yokosuka line, change at the Musashi Kosugi station, 3 stops and you are in Musashin Shinjyo. Take the right exit, another right, walk about 3 minuets and it will be on your left side. I am aware they have several shops but I was told that all of them individually differ in taste to accentuate the owners specially arrangement. I have only tried this one, but I must say, after trying theirs, I was just not satisfied by any other noodles at any other noodle shop in Japan while I was their. A MUST GO.
