“Amazing sushi, delightful experience!”
Compliments to the chef! I hope my English review will encourage more foreigners to come here. This place is a budget restaurant that will not hurt your wallet even if you eat a lot. The only caveat is that it is a standing sushi bar, which means there are no seats. This might get a little risky if ...you drink too much oh and their sake is reasonably priced, too! There are sushi combos you can choose. All menus are in Japanese, so prepare ahead and download the Google translate app. If you take a picture of the menu, the app can import it and translate it for you. That's how I ordered. There was a menu item which did not translate well, so I asked the staff what it meant. She was not sure, but she was so kind of ask the chef for me. The chef turned around and explained to me, that this fish is good and he recommends it. I did not expect this kind of personal service at a budget restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! The fish is called Black Throat Trout and it was so, so fresh! Makes all the work stress go away. The chef saw that I was a solo female diner and asked what I was doing there, since that was a male-dominant neighborhood. He asked, "isn't it dangerous for you?" What a caring person. I was so happy I stumbled upon this place and ended up dining there. This place deserves more 5-star reviews. Everything was fresh. You can see the chef cut the piece in front of you. I couldn't believe the low price they were charging, I ended up going for second rounds of sea urchin, salmon roe, and middle toro. The final bill wasn't even expensive, around $30 or $35 USD. You will leave here very satisfied. They take credit cards, I think I paid with Amex even, not entirely sure. Short summary: Fresh, delicious food, kind staff, budget friendly. You will need a translation app if you can't read Japanese.
