“Best value Italian in Shinjuku”
Wonderful 'find' for visitors to Tokyo. Menu is available in English and the owner and the manager both speak fluent English as well. The service was excellent - as usual for Japan. Personal and attentive, yet we were left alone when required so we could talk privately. Very small place, but... enough room between tables. There is a small bar where you can wait for a table if you did not book before hand. Excellent 'traditional' Italian dishes, with some modern Italian cuisine as well, plus the Japanese touch in presentation and 'style'. Formal style dinning at casual sit down prices. Decent Wine List with Italian and Australian wine at very reasonable prices for Tokyo. We visited a few months ago, and again in November this year (2013). It was a short walk from the Hotel we use - JAL City Yotsuya. The closest subway station is Yotsuya Sanchome, which was between our hotel and this restaurant. The pasta dishes average around AU$18 (with Clams, or Duck, or Squid Ink). The mains AU$26 (Snapper). I can't fault the food or its presentation. We left not a trace of it on our plates. They also have special menus with 4 courses plus espresso coffee for around AU$50.
