“My favourite!!”
Whenever I visit Tokyo I go to this restaurant - it is my favorite restaurant in the whole world - and I have travelled to many countries and tried many many restaurants.

“Cosy and warm restaurant”
It is a small restaurant we found late at night in Ginza area. The staff asked us where we were from and then out our national flag and Japanese flag in front of us. Wonderful surprise. Though their English was not great, they tried to explain that they had been to our country before and loved to be... there. Service is good for sure. Food is served right in front of you and very good. We had a memorable dinner at the heart of Tokyo. Thank you!

“Great place for a party, nice for dinner too”
Excellent kushiyaki by one of the top places in Japan. Mogami has only four outlets -- 2 in Osaka, 2 in Tokyo -- all of them part of the group, not franchises. This means top ingredients, great attention to detail and a pretty much the same experience no matter which branch you visit. While very muc...h an Osaka phenomenon, Mogami's long ago roots are in Yamagata Prefecture and this means lots of the vegetables, and, perhaps most important, most of the sake come fresh and wonderful straight from the north. If you make it, there is a possible 36 sticks on the menu every evening -- and I'm sure they find more if you make it that far. We most anyone I know has managed in a sitting is 20, every one of them a taste treat. They will accommodate non-meateaters/vegetarians by simply skipping any meat or fish skewers if so requested. An interesting, at least to me, aspect is the sakes of the month are simply described as their choice, no brand listed to muddy the waters, and every time I have followed their suggestions has been terrific. Seasonality is very important to them and many of the skewers, and the sakes, change with the seasons. The skewer choices are made by the master to reflect his feelings of what order things should be served for top enjoyment and each master seems to get it right each time. The wine selection is quite good as well and friends who chose wine over sake said the wine and skewers married nicely. Highly recommended in either Tokyo or Osaka -- upscale and not cheap, but excellent value and the absolute attention to freshness, detail and variety make Mogami a great choice for residents or visitors. A nice touch is when each skewer is served, the server will place the stick end so it points to which of the sauces/salt is recommended for that skewer. If it is best without sauce, the stick is placed parallel to the sauces/salt.
