“If you love Sake”
The chef at this restaurant worked in London so he can explain the menu in English. And what a menu! Another golden gem that is difficult to find but well worth the search. Let's quickly peek at the delights: Sashimi The sashimi selection is very particular. The chef has travelled to most of the... ports where the catch is landed and knows the fishing community personally. This is a "must order" dish. Start off with the sashimi, then order the green salad. Green Salad The salad dressing is truly special. Many of my dining guests have asked to buy the dressing to take home but to no avail. Carrot based with a touch of ginger and other spices DO NOT leave without trying this salad. The "Renkon Manju" This dish is another class favourite. It's hard to explain how good it is. Just try it. To finish off the meal most diners either select the Inaniwa Udon noodles or the NamaHam Onigiri. (Prosciutto Ham Rice Ball). As a non meat eater I always go for the udon noodles. Lastly, one must ask for the "Ura" selection of cold sake. Often the only location in Tokyo to carry rare, premium sake, if you love "reishu" cold sake, then Ikkyo will quickly become your second home. Great value for an outstanding dining experience. Please note: I have only given Ikkyo 2 for atmosphere because it allows smoking. Once it become smoke free I would bump it up to 5.
