“Upscale Izakaya that specialises on Sake and creative food”
For anyone interested in learning more about Sake and pairing it with creative Japanese dishes, this is the place. I was lucky to be there with a Japanese friend who ordered for us. The Sommelier has excellent knowledge of the various Sake types and chose the perfect ones for us. Food is fantastic, ...nothing like you see in common Izakayas. Perfect for sharing, as dishes are small. Try the corn, even if you dislike fried food! Also the pickled and smoked radish, surprise. Service is very friendly, the place gets quite full and loud so make sure you book in advance and be prepared to raise your voice.

“Excellent sake & food”
We ate here twice on our recent trip to Japan. Soregashi is known for their sake selection. We tried probably 10-12 different kinds on our first night and 5-6 on our second night (we repeated some favorites from the first night). We let the staff recommend sake for us and everything they poured us ...was great. The only problem was the bottles were too hard to find in sake stores when we went looking (at least one got us a shake of the head and a “very hard to find” when we asked about it). The food was also excellent. They do have an English menu (not everything from the Japanese menu is listed though). The food is made to pair well with sake so you’ll find dishes like smoked pickled radish and dried assorted seafood as well as some interesting meat dishes. We also had a couple of dishes off the Japanese menu like trout with a miso sauce and a clay pot of rice, firefly squid and bamboo shoots. Service was very friendly and helpful. Very recommended if you are really into sake and interesting food. I believe they have another location in Gotanda.
