Nikuya Tanaka

Nikuya Tanaka is a popular restaurant in Ginza that specializes in Wagyu Kappo cuisine. Online reservation is straightforward. While it is closed during lunch, there are 2 seatings for dinner, namely 5pm and 8:30pm. The restaurant with a high ceiling is spacious, bright and well-ventilated. Ther...e are only 9 counter seats surrounding the open kitchen. Servers and chefs are all very friendly and professional. Ken-san, the sommelier, has a good sense of humor! There is only one Omakase Course for dinner, at JPY 48,000/person (+ tax and service charges), but there is no printed menu. Although quite pricey, most of the wagyu dishes are delicious and of high quality. Highlights of the dinner include the surprisingly soft Wagyu Tongue Sashimi, the silky-smooth Wagyu Shabushabu, and the melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu Oxtail with Truffle.
