“Delicious toufu kaiseki at Kieo Department store, Shinjuku”
Great place for toufu lovers and they have an English menu which made it easy for non-Japanese speakers to order. The food was delicious and that is an achievement for the chef to make something bland taste so good. It is a pity we only went to Toufu Kichiza on our last night in Shinjuku. We would ...definitely go back again if we are back in Shinjuku. I had the tempura set and my son the grilled fish and beef set. Both sets came with toufu done 5 different ways and my toufu was done differently from my son's. That's toufu done 10 different ways and all delicious. We were not very hungry as we had a substantial meal not too long ago. However we ate everything on the tray as the food was so appetising. Service was also excellent and I liked that the staff wore something traditional.

“Famous for tofu”
The restaurant is on the 8th floor of Keio Department store in Shinjuku. It is famous for its tofu dishes. There is a tofu ingredient in practically every course ordered. The tofu is fresh, with no seasoning, and probably quite healthy. But, apart from the above, it is just another moderately-priced... Japanese restaurant.

“Beef Sukiyaki”
I wanted shabu shabu for dinner but couldn't find one so settled for sukiyaki instead. This restaurant was a good choice though I knew nothing about its reputation then. The sukiyaki set was beautifully presented and included several dishes. The tofu appetiser was the star, in my opinion. It was so... 'clean' in taste and absolutely delicious. Alas, I found the soup stock a bit too salty. The green marshmallow like desert was interesting. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is complemented by very pleasant staff and service. There are other things on the menu but my delicious dinner and beer at Kissho is highly recommended.
