“Nice food and wine at a good prive”

Wide variety of nice food centering in fish dishes. Reasonably priced for the area, particularly wine which was of good quality. We sat at the counter and the s service was friendly and prompt. Can be a wait on busy nights and it gets lively with a good mix of a mainly younger crowd for dates or gir...ls gathering together.

This isn't a place many foreign visitors will stumble across, tucked away in a quiet street behind Ebisu station. It was filled with Japanese couples when I visited on a Sunday evening. I was greeted warmly and given a seat at the bar. The menu is quite small and filled with fish & seafood favori...tes from the west: bouillabaisse, fish and chips, chowder, seafood paella etc. The waiter, who spoke almost no English, kindly recommended half-sized portions. I had the chowder which was superb (served in a hot skillet with a ladle), followed by the fish and chips. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. Definitely not haute cuisine or in any way authentically Japanese, but very well prepared comfort food. I'm always delighted by the sincere courtesy on display in Tokyo's restaurants and this was another example of good food + hospitality that I find to be commonplace in Japan. Value for money can't be beaten: approx $15 for two courses + a glass of wine.

Did not have a reservation on Halloween night, but thought that we would try our luck. Initially got turned away as it was completely booked. As we started walking down the street, one of the waitresses ran after us to let us know of a cancellation, that allowed us to have a newly available seat. Th...e menue should really better reflect the great quality of food, after all it is just a few sheets of standard Japanese printing paper clipped together. We started off with the sashimi sampler. The muscles had a lightly smoked flavor that was just right to compliment the flavor with a little slightly sweet sauce on top, the tuna was really fresh with a light soy flavor, the salmon was very tasty with a slight amount of lemon on top, the yellow tail and red snapper were superb in my opinion, best flavor of the platter, very delicate and slightly bold flavors, not sure of the accompanied flavors, but it was Delicious. Then we had a small pickle plate, which was pickled delight, and ajilo shrimp, which was terrific. The bread that came with the meal complimented the ajilo very well, and the flavor of the shrimp was very pleasurable to the pallet. The final dish that we tried was fish liver and eggplant, which may not sound amazing to some, but I definitely recomend it for its complex flavor and textures. The liver is of course soft and dense, but have slightly bitter sweet flavor with a slight saltiness, and none of the cow liver after taste. The eggplant was soft and had some dashi soy sauce on it and the slight salty flavor and the mild tones of the eggplant paired very well with the liver. They have a great list of wines, which I have both white and red wines during this visit and the flavors went well with the meals. Menues are entirely in Japanese except for the course selections, which are in English, and the staff did not seem to speak English. Highly recommended! The place has a blue achor as their restaurant symbol.

Great food with Spanish influence. Fresh and delicious. Menu all in Japanese but very helpful waiter who spoke little bit of English and used his phone to fill in the gaps. Reasonable wine list also. Reasonable price.
