Takanawa Baru Derusore

First visit with friends. Friendly welcome from young server, ordered bottle of wine and beers. Food ordered 2 spaghetti bolognase vegetarian pizza and shellfish pasta. All food was delicious and well presented, staff were luvly, place was busy with fellow hockey players and staff accommodated la...rger tables, worth a visit :) :)

Visited for a quick dinner. Greeted by a couple of different wait staff. Ordered two (small) side salads, two (small) mains - one was literally a grilled chicken breast and no accompaniments and the other a teacup sized helping of penne pasta. One Kirin beer and one (small) shandygaff. That cost ¥52...20/US$48. The food was very overpriced and nowhere near value for what you pay. There are a number of other places immediately available in the area, recommend looking elsewhere.

We chanced upon this place after a RWC day out and wanted a couple of quick beers and that was it. The staff were friendly enough, but when we got our bill, there was a surcharge for being served after 5 or 6 pm....whichever it was, it was not disclosed to us. The surcharge of 300yen each was ha...lf the price of the beer!! Would not recommend on that basis alone.....and it came as a nasty surprise. It is likely we would have stayed anyway, if we knew up front, but no disclosure....leaves a sour taste.

I actually found the staff to be quite polite and indeed very helpful. This however was not enough to make up for limited menu, salad made of entirely lettuce, pizza with no tomatoes and a 3mm deep fondue. It's not too be avoided but if you're hungry and or do skint, there are plenty of other places... to eat.

This is a great bar located in middle of shopping district. I had cappuchino and beers only, but this is for sure a good place. They have own kitchen with chef. Look at that coffee :)
