“Grilled Meat in a Cave”
For 1000 yen, the "Yakiniku Lunch" is one of the best values in Roppongi. It comes with thick cuts of 3 different beef parts, a refreshing dipping sauce, salad, rice, tea, and ice cream at the end of the meal. Other items available for lunch pale in comparison in terms of bang for the buck. The "...Big Size Yakiniku Lunch" @ 1300 yen is simply the "Yakiniku Lunch" with a 4th type of meat (chicken neck) added. i.e. same amount of beef as the regular sized lunch. The ambiance here is truly unique. 1F has one long table with a mirror at the end, making the already-comfortable dining room seem even more spacious. 2F is rather odd. I appreciate the mindset of trying something different, but ultimately 2F seems poorly designed. Not only is the space inefficiently used, the seating is not comfortable as several tables have floor seating without a pit for your legs. But as this is a food review and not an architecture review, I highly recommend this place (for lunch, at least). It has become a regular destination (2~3 times a month) on my lunch rotation with coworkers. While a couple of visits have been underwhelming due to quality fluctuations, it is excellent much more often than not.
