Very friendly staff who helped us cook our Okonomiyaki. Excellent value. Traditional surroundings. Don’t be put off as it is up a quiet alleyway.

“Surprisingly RACIST experience”
There was a line of people waiting to come in. The person in charge of admissions allowed every japanese person in to stop us (europeans) saying that it was full, asking us to leave and allowing the rest of people behind us to continue coming in. Shameful

“Great place and you try a bit of cooking”
Visited this place very close to the station with my Japanese friends. Traditional Japanese, you have to remove your shoes outside. You sit on a table with gas cooking plate in the centre of the table. Choose your menu Japanese pizza or noodles and the stuff comes in a big bowl. Mix it up well and t...he put some oil on the cooking plate and put your stuff from the bowl. spread well and let it cook. Cook the other side after some time. I enjoyed sweet soda from a special bottle. There is a beautiful Japanese garden outside.

“superb okonomiyaki”
I was recommended this place as it is well known in Kamakura. They specialize in okonomiyaki and other foods cooked on a hot plate. Although I had had this before, I had not cooked it myself in the authentic Japanese style. As I was clearly a visitor, I was given an English menu, and shown how to do... each stage of the process. It is delicious food and also something of a spectacle. This is enhanced by the beautiful traditional setting and decor, with tatami mats, and an outlook over a beautiful traditional garden. I really enjoyed my visit here, it was a uniquely Japanese experience and I felt very welcome.

“Try it for the experience!”
We had a wonderful okonomiaki here. The staff is very friendly and helpful and showed us how to do it. There is an English menu and you can choose between table seating and tatami seating. The view to the garden is great and there is no smoking allowed inside (which we found very nice). To find th...e place is pretty hard, it is a very small street just close to the station - but keep looking out is worth it!
