Shogaryori Garagara

The restaurant is located only 3 minute walk away from Shin-Yurigaoka Station on Odakyu-line. It is said to be the most popular restaurant in this area, specializing in "ginger." The menu is probably in Japanese only, and may not be so foreign-visitor friendly, as it is located in a residential ar...ea. "Garlic Pork" and "Pork Ginger" are two dishes you MUST HAVE here. I have dined here four times before and everything we ordered, were good. I like "Hotaru Ika no Okizuke" which is basically "shiokara" but with green pepper and ginger. Brings out extra spiciness and goes super well with beer or with high-ball. Though I have never looked into this, place is not internationally prepared. I recommend that you grab a local friend/colleague, and visit this restaurant. 新百合ヶ丘の言わずと知れた「名店」です。ちょっと見つけにくい所にありますが、駅から3分程です。何から何まで生姜がテーマですが、お店はログハウス風でとてもリラックスできる雰囲気です。生姜という事で女性だけのグループも比較多いように見受けます。 ガーリックポークとポークジンジャーは絶対食べないと、です。個人的には「ホタルイカの沖漬」が逸品です。青唐辛子と生姜が入っており、普通の塩辛よりだいぶ刺激的でビールやハイボールにばっちりあいます。
