HOURAIEN

We walked by this place during the day and did not know it was a restaurant. A metal door was pulled down over the façade and it looked like any other locked up building. It was located right at the Negishi-3 intersection - not sure how to describe this. The street signs going in both directions o...f the intersection said Negishi 3. Did a lot of looking online since the restaurant never shows its English letters, everything is in Japanese symbols, but finally found it called Houraien and the type of food listed was Korean, which was a surprise. The food was so good, my son still talks about it and we have been gone for over a week. Had we found this place on the first night, we would have went back over and over. My son had the grilled sirloin that he grilled himself at the table. I had what looked like a spicy ramen bowl - so delicious! The waitress spoke English well which was helpful and my son ended up ordering two medium-sized meat dishes just for himself. There were only maybe 6 tables in the whole restaurant. The food was great, the service was excellent and the price was really good! My son said if he ever goes back, he is going to stay in Taito again, just so he can continue to eat there.
