“Good Japanese breakfast choice.”
Went there for breakfast two times. Quite good and cheap Japanese style breakfast. Worth trying if you would like to have very local Japanese breakfast.

“Big Portions, Super Cheap”
Yoshinoya specializes in inexpensive rice bowls. They are very tasty. I had the ground chicken rice bowl, which came with a small piece of Japanese-style scrambled egg and miso soup. Yummy and only ¥290.

“This is one of those places that makes Japan fantastic on a budget”
You know how when you mention that you're going to Japan friends always say "But isn't it expensive"? Well Yoshinoya is one of those places that belie the myth. You can get a decent feed here for less than 5 bucks. 450 yen for a meat and rice dish with a side of soup. There are heaps of meals on the... menu for less than 1000 yen. Seriously, you can not eat at McDonalds this cheaply. And when the meals are as hearty and good as this why would you bother? The restaurant is a counter restaurant in a U shape similar to a sushi train. We even managed to squeeze our pram with our two kids in. It was after midnight but we were still able to get a very good meal at a very very reasonable price. Lunch times in places like Yoshinoya probably get very busy but the service is pretty quick so the turn over of seats would be pretty fast too. Highly recommended if you're on a budget. This isn't great food but it is very good and very cheap.
