in my 10 years in Japan this is about the worst restaurant yet. the food is tasteless, the portions are tiny, dont even get me started on the quality of alcoholic drinks. The service is shockingly bad.

This is the worst restaurant in Shinjuku. Please stay away from this restaurant, if you want to enjoy "atmosphere" of this unique restaurant, or looking for nice dinner. I booked this restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday. I got a reservation confirmation phone call the day before, so I thought eve...rything would go well, but it did not go well at all. The second we got to the restaurant, a staff told us that they didn't have "smoking seat" we requested and told us we have a table at another restaurant. Then he took us to a crappy looking restaurant nearby. We were fine with non smoking, but they just ignored our request. Once we got to the other restaurant, we asked again why we were transferred. They told us then that a big group booked the restaurant we wanted to dine at, so they moved us. Ummm. Couldn't they tell us in advance when they called me? The person on the phone did not mention anything about smoking/nonsmoking table? What the heck? I ordered a 7 dish course (2 hours), and menu was same as I ordered. But they rushed us so much that we were done eating 6 dishes in 30 minutes! Food was terrible, and drinks were not served in a timely manner. So we ended up leaving early without eating desert. I asked if similar things happen or not, they said sometimes it happens on weekends. So please stay away from this restaurant so that you won't be disappointed.
