“Go for the unagi but be wowed by everything else too!”
The best meal I had on this trip to Japan. I'm glad I was able to make a reservation and experience the seasonal ingredient omakase at Miyake Akira. It was a 14 item course that was incredibly delicious. There were no bad dishes. Our party of 4 was seated quickly when we arrived for the 5 pm sea...ting. They had one English speaking chef that provided the description and explanation of each dish. The head chef whose English is passable also chimed in when he wants to emphasize a dish. Service was impeccable throughout the meal as water was constantly filled, sake glasses were kept full, and dishes cleared quickly when finished. I specifically selected the restaurant because I heard the head chef was an expert in grilling eel. I was not disappointed. We were shown the eel that he would be preparing for us that day. I then got to see him expertly grill the eel on the charcoal grill to produce the most delicious eel with a crispy skin yet maintain the juicy and firm texture of the unagi. We had 3 different eel dishes and my favorite has to be the aged unagi. I would absolutely go back to have it again. Another highlight of the day has to be the lobster which was also grilled on the charcoal grill. It was cooked perfectly and the lobster tail was still tender. The chef is an expert at grilling! While not a cheap meal, I would not hesitate to go back again and experience other seasonal ingredients and the unagi.

“A true hidden gem.”
We sat at the counter which had seating for six. It is a very authentic experience and the chef's tasting menu was superb. Supported by an interesting pairing of Sake, Champagne and Wine. The staff can just about manage to describe everything in English and tried very hard to ensure we had a good ti...me. The restaurant is hard to find and down an alley way however it is worth the effort as one of the best meals in Japan.

“Excellent Roppongi Unagi resto”
Excellent Nagoya style Unajyu…in a very tasteful surrounding with helpful staff! We will return to try the Dinner menu.

“Lovely dinner”
The food is freshly made, the ingredients are in season. The price paid for the quality is fair. The chef and staff were gracious, thoughtful and friendly. Each round was delicious, spectacular in presentation. I really liked frog made from cucumber. Highly recommend for anniversary or date night. ...Thank you for a wonderful experience. We love our time here. 全ての料理が美味しくて最高でした。 特にうなぎは今まで食べた鰻で1番おいしかったです。 お酒に種類も豊富でとても良かったです

“Exceptional experience”
The handmade pottery, the choice of ingredients, the care taken to control the temperature of the dishes so that hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold, and the timing of the food coming out was exquisite, and they served the food at our pace without stagger, were professional. We were ...very satisfied with their customer-first hospitality and would like to go back again.
