“Great tempura, right off the Ginza with English menus. Legit and fun.”
Pretty legit-feeling, basement, 10-person-ish counter tempura restaurant just off the main shopping streets in the Ginza shopping mecca. Everyone but us was Japanese. Happily, and somewhat surprisingly, they had English menus, and the lady behind the counter was both friendly and spoke more than s...ufficient English to get through the process. Simple basic lunch menu of 5 items plus, for us this was critical, the ability to order a la carte because my wife didn't want any fish -- so she had a basically vegetarian tempura lunch of mushrooms and peppers. Net: this place was perfect for us. You get the real immersion feeling in fun and American-safe environment.

“Just what I wanted.”
This basement level tempura bar is directly opposite the Ibis Styles Ginza and I visited for lunch after a morning of touring around Tokyo. The staff were super friendly and spoke English very well. I sat at the bar and watched the chef cook my tempura, which was a nice mix of prawns and vegetables.... The air conditioning and cold beer was a welcome relief from the 40+ Celsius heatwave outside. There was a wide range of options on the menu and I am sure most people would be catered for.

“This is a friendly and simple place for a good meal”
I quite enjoyed my meal here. It was small and friendly, simple and clean, and the food was very good. My nephew and I enjoyed our dinner very much.
