“Authentic Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant ”
Visited Katsukichi in Shibuya for lunch in January 2020. Katsukichi has a few locations in Tokyo, the company started during the 19th century and is still going strong. They serve authentic tonkatsu in a cozy, casual, fun yet relaxed, atmosphere. We always experience both wonderful food and servic...e at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

“Pork, shrimp, and oyster”
Visited Katsukichi Shibuya in November 2019. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo. They are famous for pork cutlet, and also serve shrimp, oyster, and fish balls as well. So if you don’t like pork, there are other options. Food is deep fried, and comes with a lot of fresh vegetables and... pickled ones as well. Service is fast and attentive - you ring the cowbell as needed basis. Nice traditional Japanese atmosphere. Price is reasonable. Overall a great casual restaurant for lunch/dinner.

“My "go to" Tonkatsu restaurant in Tokyo”
Visited Katsukichi Shibuya in September 2018. This is my "go to" Tonkatsu restaurant in downtown Tokyo. Good service, good yet casual atomosphere, and one of, if not, the best Tonkatsu in Japan. I ordered the smallest filet and that was plenty.

“Wiener Schnitzel? Tonkatsu!”
Why are most of us Europeans limited to thinking that Austrians have the best breaded pork meat in the world? Because most of us haven’t tried Japanese Tonkatsu early on in their lives! This very traditional and authentic restaurant excells in this category! Their tonkatsu is heavenly! It’s crun...chy, juicy, tender and not oily at all. A wide variety of accomplishments are being served (amazing pickles!), all of which are enriching the experience...but the meat is perfect just by itself. If however some Japanese visitors are not giving this place 5points, I am asking humbly for their recommendation of even better tonkatsu places :-)

“Scrumptious Cutlets!”
They have kept the old interior so the traditional atmosphere itself is well worth the visit. Food is wonderful if you like deep fried pork cutlets and all the cabbage and pickles and rice you can eat.
