“What a nice surprise”
I ordered the fried tempe and rendang from the menu as suggested. I was surprise in a good way to discover the original taste of Indonesian food. To be honest, I did not expect much before eating as I thought perhaps the taste will be close to Japanese food rather than original Indonesian food. But ...I was wrong. I am happy to discover this hidden gems in Tokyo. I'll be back for sure if I visit Tokyo again!

“Best Indonesian food in Tokyo”
In a city with the most Michelin-starred restaurants and thousands of cheap but delicious Japanese comfort foods, it's hard to find an original-tasting restaurant for Indonesian food. Just as I referred to my Japanese friends' advice for Japanese restaurants in Australia, I asked my Indonesian frien...ds in Tokyo for authentic Indonesian food in Tokyo. Most of them pointed me to the Wayang Bali. At first skeptical of the Bali-ish decor and the waiter named "Ketut" (a popular Balinese name), all doubts disappeared when I bit into the sate. Other dishes kept reminding me of my times in Indonesia, and I forgot that I was inside a large Japanese office building in the middle of Tokyo. (The reviewer disappointed not to find Balinese food in Tokyo should try looking for authentic Japanese food in Bali!) Yeah, you can do the research in Tokyo yourself and sample the others (I did try 2 other Indonesian restaurants from Japanese operators), but the Indonesian restaurant that has got the taste just right is the Wayang Bali. I will come back again.

“Friendly service alone does not make a good lunch”
I enjoyed my holidays in Bali earlier this year so much that I wanted to revisit that cuisine. I don't know if the right ingredient would be too expensive or if the cook is just not great but today's lunch was nowhere as good as what I experienced in july.

“Authentic Indonesian Food !!”
After more than 2 weeks of Japanese food, this sure is a much-welcomed food closer back to home. Lunch set meals at 1000Y is not too bad. Comes with soup, mains (i had Nasi Goreng and Bakmi Goreng) with drinks. Food taste rather authentic, which I appreciate :)
