“Great way to experience Japanese fast food with the locals”
On the recommendation of our Airbnb host we tried Yayoiken for an easy way to enjoy Japanese fast food with the locals. And we are glad we did. Yayoiken serves Teishoku - this is a pre-set meal with a main dish, always with miso soup and a bowl of rice, and it builds from there according to the main... you choose. Like most Teishoku restaurants you order your meal from a machine and Yayoiken has English too which was really helpful - although one of the staff did speak English and was happy to help us which was also great. You put in your money and choose your food and drinks and you get a little ticket for each item. You then sit down where you like and a server takes your tickets and the food arrives fairly soon afterwards. The food itself was great, and certainly good value for money. It's also fun to people watch the locals enjoying their dinners - some grabbing a quick bite and others enjoying a more leisurely meal. Try Yayoiken for yourself.
