“Quick and easy”
I am vegetarian and my Dad is pescatarian. Loads for us to eat here and cheap, oposite our hotel which was handy, with an english screen to order from. It could be a unrelated but I had the soy meat twice and both time after eating there i had a terrible tummy. My Dad did not though. Maybe avoid the... soy meat if you are sensitive.

“Simple well prepared tasty food ”
Perfect place for a simple meal that's served quickly and attractively. There is a vending machine near the entry where you select the meal that you want. You don't have to depend on the illustrations because there's a button to switch the display to English. If you look confused, as I was tryin...g to complete my transaction, one of the staff quickly comes to your aid. You can enjoy a good meal for 1,000 Yen more less.

“My favourite teishoku place”
If you want cheap, easy, fast as lightning food, go to Yayoi. This one was right across from our hotel, and we found ourselves here often, as late as 11pm, for dinner when we would forget to eat elsewhere. Service is easy, and staff are very helpful and friendly. All you can eat rice and tea is a hu...ge bonus. Eat and leave quick or feel free to sit a chat for a while. Food is ordered with a ticket machine, and then you sit and place your tickets in a glass holder (or give them to staff) and you're set!

“Nice little find for breakfast!”
Found this while wandering the streets in search of a more unique breakfast option vs McD’s or other fast food joints.

“Cheap and fast Japanese set meals in a comfortable, tourist-friendly environment”
After my first visit to Yayoi, I was hooked. This chain restaurant specializes in teishoku, Japanese set meals (generally a main fish/meat dish with rice, miso soup, and other sides), at prices that seem too low considering the quality of the food and the comfort of the dining area (mostly quiet, ro...omy booths). Ordering is easy: You buy meal tickets from a computerized vending machine (after switching the menu to English) and give them to a waiter (or if you look clueless like I did, the waiter may take the tickets from you/the machine), who will direct you to available seats. The service is professional and friendly, and the food comes out really fast, almost McDonald's-fast in some cases. My fave dishes were the two types of grilled mackerel and the karaage (fried chicken), plus the 16-grain rice.
