Overpriced. Not that authentic Thai restaurant, doesn’t even have mango sticky rice. The mango juice from a can and doesn’t taste good. The phad-thai is ok-ish.

We were looking for somewhere to eat lunch and found this place in the Lumine 1 building. Not really authentic Thai food - really with a Japanese twist but still delicious. Very busy with plenty of tables filled with women who had been busy shopping. Helpful staff - very reasonably priced

“Tasty change from Japanese food”

The food and drinks here were delicious, my only criticism being that I only had one prawn in my prawn curry! The service was almost a little too brisk, I got the impression they wanted to get us out the door even though they had plenty of empty tables. I’d recommend the lemongrass mojito.

This was my first visit to the Mango Tree Cafe in Shinjuku. The restaurant is located on the 7th floor (restaurant level) of the Lumine I (one) building at Shinjuku Station. As the 30th of December is already a quasi holiday of the New Year break, all seats in the restaurant were taken at Lunch time.... I had no reservation but was lucky to get a free table for 2 persons right away. The order was taken within minutes by a very friendly staff. We ordered the 'Isaan Plate' (food from NE Thailand) which included among other delicacies 5 rather big fried BBQ chicken pieces, sticky and really delicious rice, salad, mushrooms etc. (unfortunately I had no camera with me). The menu also contained a cup of freshly brewed coffee . For dessert we ordered 1 coconut ice cream and 1 Tapioca which had both really a heavenly taste. The price of the lunch menu was JPY 1,800 (tax included). The dessert was JPY 250 p.P. The whole lunch did cost JPY 3,800 for two persons. This restaurant can be highly recommended. Among more than a dozen Thai eateries which I know this was really one of the best in Tokyo.

“Not the real Thai taste...”

Went there for dinner and honestly... How can you put the cow milk in Tom Yum?? The taste wasn't impressive and the atmosphere was rather like Japanese izakaya...
