Matsuo Jingisukan Sapporo Eki-mae

Arrived at 5.20pm but was told that we had only an hour to eat till 5.15 as we did not have a reservation. The clock started ticking before we were seated or order taken. At 5.10, cashier came to the table to ask us to pay. At 5.15 sharp, we were asked to leave even though we had a few pieces of me...at left. It’s ok if restaurant was fully seated but there was at least 2 empty set tables. What gives? I told them off but of course no one understood English. Food was good but I wouldn’t saying excellent. Hype exceeded quality. And the restaurant was very difficult to find even with gps, because the building name in the address is different from the actual building which wasn’t apparent either. More time spent looking for it than was allowed to eat. Needless to say, a disappointing experience.

Sorry it's more expensive than average and a sanitized version of authentic jingisukan that leaves you underwhelmed. For a start there's no real fire that gives the barbecued flavor that is essential along with the gritty and smoky atmosphere you leave the joint with. Not recommended I'm afraid.

They serve lamb in traditional Hokkaido style: using special source and pot. Generally speaking, eating lamb is not popular in Japan, but it is not the case in Hokkaido area. They use unique pot for eating lamb and it allows us to eat lamb like "Sukiyaki". The shop is located near the central statio...n and connected with underpath directory. Please try the traditional style.
