Uni-to Shikikaisen UniMurakami Hakodate Main store

If uni is your thing, this place is (expensive) heaven. Since we got uni rice bowl at the morning market, we wanted to try the more novel ways of preparing uni. We got the uni croquette, uni gratin, uni tempura, and uni in dashi broth with rice. The uni gratin is definitely the star. It's so creamy ...and has complex flavor. With that said, this place is not cheap. The english menu online is a bit dated, but the restaurant has a full english menu (same as japanese menu) with pictures which make ordering much easier.

Uni Murakami is so highly rated in Hakodate Tripadvisor that it would be a sin for any uni lover not to try the uni donburi. I had the large and my wife the small. It was good. We love uni but we are no experts. We found the taste more subtle and creamy than most we had. It was a good experience.

Wow what a fantastic restaurant. If you’re an uni fan this is the place for you. We had some fantastic tempura for two, sashimi platter for two and an extra order of uni plus the crab salad. Everything was beyond good. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They have an English menu which helps us no...n Japanese speaking visitors. Located on side street right across street from cruise ship pier. This is a no brainer choice. Oh almost forgot the Murakami special sake is delicious!!

The freshest uni imaginable! Near the morning market, this tiny, very user-friendly restaurant specializes in uni in all formats, with lots of additional options. They even pointed out where today's uni came from .

Heard a lot about this restaurant and dropped by when we were in Hakodate. Their salmon with scallop rice bowl was not bad but we were let down a little by their uni bowl. Thought we had a lot better in Otaru before.
