“Racist Restaurant”
On August 4, 2023, we decided to check out this restaurant in Otaru. We were turned away by the employee in the restaurant because we are black. It was the most humiliating and embarrassing experience in my entire life. It was hurtful and cruel to be treated in the manner by this staff. This restaur...ant should be shut down for this disgusting and egregious behavior.

“Child friendly restaurant”
One of the few child friendly restaurants in Otaru (apart from the fast food chains) - plenty of room for the kids to roam/ strollers at tables. Serves a variety of western food (steaks, pastas, pizzas). Food and wine were generally quite good, though slightly overpriced. Desserts were disappointing.... Free wifi available.

“Not exactly a must-see”
I joined the Chuo bus tour to Otaru and this place is part of the itinerary. It was a bit of a rush and basically it's just a wine shop with souvenirs. We tasted some wine but average. quality.

“Not bad if you have extra time”
You can have local wines of Sapporo here. I had a white wine made from niagara grape which was fresh but not tasty.

“Japanese wine and cheese served with a smile”
Not much English spoken but the universal language of wine and food took its place. Plenty of options to try and reasonable prices if you want to buy. Free shipping to Japanese addresses if you buy a lot.The cheese is well presented but I didn't try any of it. Great old building that was once part... of Otaru's Wall Street in the boom days of plentiful herring catches. Staff were happy and enthusiastic about their offerings.
