Naniwatei

Made reservations through a Japanese friend and was shown to a private room for 4 of us. We ordered the kaiseki dinner. The waitress spoke fluent English and was very accommodating. The 11 course dinner was superb. The taste was exquisite and portions were just nice so you don't struggle with the... 11 course; neither were you left unsatisfied. The chef used seasonal ingredients so well. All dishes were lovely but my favourite was the "salad" - the tomato in broth. It was a whole tomato pickled or stewed. Whichever treatment, it was so refreshing and cleaned your palatte for the main. We left happy and satisfied! Chef Koji Murai was in the restaurant that night and dropped in to say hello and accommodated us with photos.

Came here with a Japanese friend who booked this place for us to enjoy the traditional Japanese dinner Hokkaido style. We ordered the Y6000 set course meal and every dish was quite delightful and went down really well with some cold Sapporo Classic draft beer on tap. The service was most memorable w...ith the hostess serving food and drink in such manner as though a couple hundred years back during the old Japan days. Most delightful dining experience in Hokkaido.
