“OMG. BEST JAPANESE BREAKFAST for under $5”
I visited this place twice in 2016, then brought my family here last week. My kid didn't believe me when I said "you'll really like the breakfast here." We both ordered grilled salmon set which included miso soup, rice, japanese pickles -- but then she ordered her set with tofu, while I chose "moun...tain yam" ( a gooey substance that when mixed a little with soysauce and topped over hot rice was absolutely yummo). Anyway, as we ate our perfectly grilled piece of salmon and people watched everyone outside of the glass doors of the restaurant (it's nicely air conditioned), we noticed a young man ordering a "gyu-don" or beef bowl. How I would have loved to order that the next time. It looked so good. And the price for that bowl? I think it was less than $3! The best part is that this place is clean, bright lights, friendly service (You order from a vending machine, which after one or two restaurants, they are not very hard to use since there's English as a choice of setting for ordering anything. watch a youtube video on how to do this. There are many out there) -- and best of all, no tipping. In fact, the Japanese find it rude to do so. They take pride in their job and sometimes take / interpret tipping as demeaning. So eat up at Matsuya. For lunch, dinner, and breakfast. It's awesome!

“Cheap and fast ”
After missing out on most restaurants at 11pm (pretty much everything was closed) we were super happy to find Matsuya as we were a little tired of having 7-11 snacks for meals. This place is cheap and fast. It is tasty, but not amazing. They have a ticket system to buy food but luckily they have an ...English option that makes it easy to order if you don't understand Japanese!
