Daimon Fuku Sushi

Went to this restaurant on the recommendations of a local ramen chef. The sushi was the best I have had in recent memory and I eat sushi frequently. The fish was generously cut, fresh and very tasty. The price was reasonable and less than sushi restaurants in larger Japanese cities. We went 2 night...s in a row, and would have gone back for the third time if we had stayed longer. We were also treated to complementary sushi including a non-traditional tataki-quail egg which was spectacular. We are planning a return trip to Hakodate to eat there again.

A local sushi place that offers excellent quality of sushi’s. Fish was super fresh with shiny surface. 10 pieces of sushi doesn’t look huge but the fact is it is easy to fill one’s stomach up. The fish and shellfish varieties are rarely find and fresh in North America. Sushi rice was so soft and... delicious. The place opens at 6 but will be full pretty soon. Most customers are Japanese. The price is surprisingly cheap, what I meant is way cheaper than anywhere in North America with this quality of fish. The deluxe is just more than 4000 yen. This place is a hidden gem and Highly recommend.

After a rather long day of traveling, we opted for an early dinner (having missed lunch) at Daimon Fukuzushi. A friend (and resident of Hakodate) had recommend this sushi-ya. We ordered the 特上寿司会席 (toku jyou sushi kaiseki) at ¥3,800. It was a memorable dining experience and a great way to christen o...ur first evening in Hakodate.
