“Real Deal”
Beautiful small place. Very Zen. Hot and cold soba were both fantastic. Highest recommendation. Take a cab there. It is tucked away.

“A light lunch in zen ambience”
Visited as a couple for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is reasonably accessible--about a 10-15 minute walk from the Soen JR station, which is one stop away from Sapporo station. There is also parking almost adjacent to the shop. There did not seem like a whole lot else to do in the vicinity. ... There was no queue at the restaurant and we did not reserve--I guess the restaurant can seat about 20 or so people at maximum though there were only 4 or 5 others there when we visited. A couple solo diners passed through getting their quick soba fix and leaving very quickly. Decor is very apt for a soba shop. Very clean, spacious, and simple.... a zen ambience framed by a garden behind the rear window making for a very relaxing dining experience. There were two ladies handling service which was more than sufficient for the crowd in there at the same time as us. The menu is split into hot (soup) and cold sections and basically offers soba paired with various ingredients--including duck, various tempura, natto/egg, tofu, the more standard bonito/radish, and others. We ordered a cold soba with tempura, a cold soba with duck, and a hot soba also with tempura just to try. Soba is very light coloured and light flavored. The restaurant cuts its noodles finely. Portions are fairly small--suitable for ladies or very light lunch portion, otherwise you may consider to order two items from the menu. As usual, they provide soba boiling water after you have finished your noodles to finish the meal. Overall, quality of food was good. To top it off, pricing is also reasonable considering aesthetics and cuisine. If you want a nice bowl of soba in a comfortable setting, Kohashi is a good choice.
