YAMAOKAYAEngaru

I tried many ramen shops in Japan. I was not aware of this Yamaokaya 山岡家 ramen shop when I did my research work before I travelled to Hokkaido. We stayed in Engaru for a night and arrived late at evening time. The street was chilly and we found nobody walking on the street except I and my friend.... Google map showed this ramen shop was one of the nearest restaurant from our hotel with high scoring. We just wanted to solve our dinner issue. I ordered their specialty miso ramen with a few slices of pork. You could tell your preference on noodle tenderness, taste and oiliness. Although the miso soup was very dark in colour as compared with salty soup, the soup is not salty and greasy. The portion is extraordinarily bigger than those we had in other parts of Japan. The noodle was al dente and you would feel that the soup was not much MSG that you could sip without hesitation. We discovered another little gem in this trip.
