Sushi Natsume Akarengaterasu

I had lunch here completely by chance and I was very grateful for the experience. The sushi is excellent, I had the charashi lunch set. The staff were very very friendly and very kind, you could tell the really enjoy their work. Sometimes restaurants in Japan can be a bit cold to tourists but I was ...welcomed very warmly had a great time chatting to the sushi chef (hikari - light) via google translate. The decor is also very nice and has a great view overlooking the red brick house. I would definitely recommend natsume sushi on the high quality of sushi and friendly staff.

Went to this Sushi place for lunch. Ordered a glass of beer and lunch sushi set. Salad was beautifully presented and fresh veggies. Chawanmushi (Japanese savory pudding) was tasty with a little chestnut in it. All of sushi were great and all of fishes used were really fresh. I like sushi here mor...e than Sushi I usually eat in Tokyo. Staff members were friendly and nice. I wish I had more space to eat more sushi here I wanna be back to this sushi place when I go to Sapporo again to eat natural salmon that usually farmed at other areas.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge as we told her we wanted an Omakase dinner but one of us does not eat raw fish and the other does. We needed to make sure the restaurant was ok with this. The lady kindly called the restaurant to check and told them our request. One of us wanted ...the raw fish 'torched' in Japanese it is called 'abori' . Most sushi chef would rather keel over and die at the thought but Chef Masaki was very accommodating and made sure we felt totally at ease and served us what we requested. We sat at the bar table and Chef Masaki was very friendly chatting with us with his limited English but we understood each other with the help of Google translate. The Omakase dinner was one of the best we had. It was a restaurant patron by locals and there weren't any foreigners. The food was very fresh and despite our limited preferences and timidness to be adventurous, Chef Masaki did manage to open our taste buds to try things we never would have tried before which I cannot now name.😞 Overall we had a fantastic dinner added to that excellent service which made the evening more interesting. We highly recommend the restaurant and the price of the dinner was reasonable too.

Have a business trip in Hokkaido. Brought here by a newly met friend - a local from Hokkaido, who cares about what he eats and where he goes. This restaurant is one of those, unless someone tells you about it - you simply won't go. On the 7th floor (I think) of a building with only small restauran...ts. The decor is simple. Nothing spectacular, just very neat and tidy and clean, v sushi restaurant like - not surprisingly. We had squid, an assorted sashimi, some soup which is supposed to be energising , few pieces of really great sushis. Also chose some v fresh local vegetables. I can't name them - just look at the pics. Will return with my family next time. Very very good sushi bar.

The place looks really nice, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the sushi is great. The sushi chef has a great personality and he created a nice mood to the place. However, the chef forgot to serve me everything I had ordered. In the end, I was not sure if the bill was correct: I was not able to che...ck this as I did not get a detailed receipt, I was just given the total sum and I did not want to ruin my evening with any confrontations whatsoever, so I just let it be. This is why I had to give just a 4/5, as otherwise I would have given a 5/5. All in all, I was quite happy with the service though and I would go again. My personal favourites from the sushi list were hotate and tobikko.
