Stampede's Sutampizu

Having arrived in Sapporo late afternoon and checked-in to my hotel within walking distance of the JR Station, the first thing on my agenda was finding somewhere to eat. Retracing my steps back towards the JR Station via the underground passageway that mirrors the route of the Toho Subway Line, I n...oticed some signage for "Stampede's Cafe & Dining Bar" close-by to Exit 19. The elevator from the underground passageway takes you directly to the restaurant above ground. Early evening (around 7:00pm), the restaurant was totally empty, but the attractive 'Sport's Bar' decor suggested that it probably catered for a lot more customers later on. Ordered the Hokkaido Sirloin Beef Steak (300g) together with a Citrus Ginger Ale alcohol free cocktail. After being 'on-the-road' since before 05:00am and meals skipped in between, I found the steak well-cooked and most enjoyable. At Yen 2,800 it also represented good value as well. If the restaurant had been busier with customers generating a more vibrant atmosphere, I am sure I would have rated the restaurant with 5-stars.
