The Ball

We waited over an hour for a steak that did not arrive. We order macaroni and cheese which took 50 minutes, and contained no cheese (but DID contain straight-up milk, and charred cubes of potato). When we asked for cheese, we were told (after a 5 minute wait) that we would be charged for the privile...ge. The sautéed mushrooms were excessively oily, and the grilled vegetables consisted of two slices of eggplant and 1/4 of a pepper. The potato dish was palatable, despite the 35 minute wait for something described as a “starter” by the menu. Even a request for salt and pepper took over 5 minutes to fulfil. At the end of this saga, we could not even pay for this experience to the room. For a restaurant which only just opened, another revival should potentially be on the cards. The hotel itself, however, cannot be more highly recommended.
