Otarutei Susukino Building

Otarutei is a large, upscale establishment with a focus on food from the sea. The interior speaks to the attention to detail you will find with both the service and food. We tried several combinations of sushi and sashimi. All of which were above average and artistically presented. In the end you m...ay leave a bit lighter in the pocket but certainly full and satisfied in the belly. The only distraction is it can be overly loud as the layout of the place does not do a good job of muffling overly loud conversations.

the tourist info center recommended this restaurant when the one we initially wanted to dine at was closed. otarutei is located on the 4th floor of susukino building. it has a nice atmosphere but was somewhat hot indoors in winter. perhaps a little ventilation in the restaurant would help. all the d...ishes did not disappoint. it was in fact one of the best meals we had on our trip. the crab was sweet! we liked the food so much that we went back again the next day. the restaurant closes at midnight so we could slowly enjoy our meal. the yubari melon ice cream was delicious too. service was fast and excellent. would recommend and would return.
