Risotteria.GAKU hiragishi

Me and my family has been going back to this restaurant many times, eagerly trying more and more different dishes on their menu, and never have we been disappointed. Before I went to Gaku I had the strange idea I did not like risotto, boy was I wrong, I completely love it. The portions are big enoug...h so even me, who is a rather hungry fellow, feels satisfied at the end. We usually wrap up with some homemade exciting flavors of ice cream to top it all off. Can only warmly recommend this restaurant.

This is good little find hidden on the 2nd floor in central Suskino. This is biggest selection of Risotto I have ever seen anywhere in a restaurant. I rate the food a good though Italians and Italian foody experts may argue this is not traditional Risotto. A couple of the orders were a little ...light on flavour as they are light on the Cheese which is probably a Japanese or Asian preference. I like the Basil And Tom Yum Goong selections the best. They have 3 choices of stock : Tomato, Chicken and Cream. There are 12-15 choices within each stock menu. Certainly hearty and good value meals. The place is larger than many in the area and it seats about 30 pax. It is cosy and comfortable with more a student cafe atmosphere and the place seemed full of younger Japanese folks. The service was fine as usual in Japan and we enjoyed this slightly quirky place and the rest from Sushi and Ramen. They serve Beer and other alcoholic beverages. It's only a block from and parallel to the Undercover Street (TanukiKoji) accessed easiest on the street between section 2 & 3 of Tanukikoji, just 20m along from the large Daiso store on the corner, and above a street level Chinese style restaurant.

Moderates price for GOOD risotto! It's juz in the mall which next to Sapporo Clock Tower. Many many choices, don't miss it ^ ^
