“A restaurant where you can eat French that does not disappoint❗️”
I visited a French restaurant that I heard had a good reputation in Nara. A little walk from the station, but everyone seems to be approaching by car. When you pass through the entrance, you will be surrounded by furniture with a nice atmosphere, and your expectations for the food will rise. First o...f all, the food that started with Amuse was very delicious and inspiring.

“Chic French environment, and delicious food.”
An exceptional culinary experience, providing French cuisine with a Japanese inflection. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients, innovative dishes, elegantly responsive yet unobtrusive service. The wine list has several delectable options. Truly a “hidden gem.”

“A elegant restaurant worths the trip and money”
This restaurant is located in a quite remote area. Driving there is highly recommended. Parking is just nearby and is free. The first impression of the restaurant is elegant and with style. The dining room has only tables of 4. Though we were a group of 8, the restaurant offered 2 tables and su...ggested us to sit separately. However with some discussion during making the reservation, the restaurant was flexible enough to offer us a private room with no extra charge. They were also kind enough to prepare us a delicious birthday cake upon our request with a prompt response. The service and food was good and you won’t be disappointed for being there. Definitely worth going.

“An out of this world French chateau experience! ”
Booked three weeks before our trip to Nara using their online system. Got an instant confirmation in English which was unusual for a restaurant in the middle of no where. We took the JR train from Nara to Koriyama JR and then a taxi from the station to reach this French oasis not very far from Koriy...ama Castle. Their lunch menu is a real steal as you get very high quality meal for quarter of their regular dinner menu. This restaurant has two Michelin stars but the food here was way better than anywhere you can ever find in any of the best Parisian restaurants. They were initially hesitant to give us a table in their main dining area because of the ages of our children's (10 and 12). However we assured them that our children will be at their best behaviour and they very kindly obliged. We went for their set menu with two different price points. Each dish/course was uniquely presented with a wine suggested to pair with the food. The ambiance of the restaurant resembles a majestic chateau from the Loire valley with high class Japanese service minus the typical French snobbery! We left the restaurant after 2 hours of sublime heavily experience of taste and flavours longing for more. I am sure I will come back again to Koriyama just for Le Benkei's food.
